The three-year project is implemented by the Missouri Botanical Garden (MBG), Vietnamese Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) and various organizations in Plant Systematics and Conservation Community around the world. Participants in the workshop include botanical experts and representatives from MBG, herbaria in Cambodia, China, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam, Birdlife International, IUCN, Forest  Science Institute of Vietnam, Universities in Hanoi and IRD (France). Prof. Dr. Sc. Chau Van Minh, President of VAST gives a welcome speech to the participants.

Institute of Tropical Biology (ITB) is one of the two key Vietnamese partners in this project.

After the workshop, a 2-day training course on using Tropicos will be held for partners. This software will be the database station to store and disseminate the information gathered from the project.
